This beautiful Babe Ruth game used bat shows heavy use dating from the Bambino’s early years in the Bronx that saw him lead the Yankees to their first World Championship. The offered Hillerich & Bradsby George "Babe" Ruth professional model bat is in outstanding condition, remaining uncracked and showing evidence of heavy game use. The barrel shows swelling from ball contact, ball stitch marks, and cleat marks. Its heavy weight of 41.6 ounces is documented as being ordered by Ruth in the H&B factory records during the 1922-29 era. Although the length of 34.5 inches is not specifically records, Babe Ruth himself is on record as stating that he occasionally used bats measuring less than 35 inches. According to MEARS the hefty weight of 41.6 ounces and Ruth’s testimony about length, this bat is consistent with a bat Ruth would have ordered during the 1922-25 period. Evidence of a label that was formerly affixed to the barrel end is apparent. PSA has concluded the bat is "authentic, and was used by Ruth during the referenced labeling period. Includes LOA from MEARS (Graded A7).
