The central object of this elaborate 22" x 25" framed display issued by the Highland Mint is an outstanding Ty Cobb personal check executed by The Georgia Peach on July 25th, 1949 and made out to "Cash" in the amount of $1.35. Cobb's strong "Tyrus R. Cobb" blue ink signature rates 9/10. A bank cancellation mark slightly touches the top of the "T" in "Tyrus". The check itself is in great shape and is surrounded by a classic image of Cobb sliding, a pair of 24k gold overlay medallions representing the American League and Detroit Tigers logos respectively, and a descriptive plaque noting the piece as a "1 of 1" issue from the Higland Mint.
