Very desirable card of Hall of Fame pitcher Walter Johnson from the extremely condition conscious 1909 T204 Ramly Cigarettes issue, a tough to complete set very popular among collectors with a beautiful gold embossed frame surrounding a portrait photo of the player. The T204 Ramly is considered Johnson's Rookie card making him the key card in the set. The offered example offers a very sharp, clear in focus black and white actual photo image of the Washington Senator Hall of Fame hurler. The ornate gold border is still mostly in tact with just some minor loss to color at corners and at various places along the edge. Very clean both front and back. Corners all VG or better. One small "scratch" at his lower right shoulder. A couple of creases at top left center that converge into one and go to top of Johnson's head, about 5/16" in length. Overall one very beautiful card with eye appeal that exceeds the given technical grade.
