Beautiful pairing of a very rare early USC - Notre Dame full ticket along with some nice Red Grange/Illinois football ticket stubs/memorabilia.
1) December 1, 1928 USC - Notre Dame full ticket PSA 6 EX-MT. USC defeated the Irish 27-14 at the Los Angeles Coliseum. Only known ticket or stub to this contest.
2) Group of 3 Illinois football ticket stubs from 1925, the legendary 3 time All-American Red Grange's final year of college ball.
October 24, 1925 Michigan at Illinois. Michigan won a tough defensive struggle 3-0. Stub a very clean VG-EX with a couple of small hairline creases on the back. Displays better than condition.
November 7, 1925 Chicago at Illinois. Illinois won 13-6. Good condition with multiple creases. Still relatively clean and displays well for condition.
November 21, 1925 Illinois at Ohio State. Red Grange's last game as a collegiate. NFL legend George Halas would sign Grange to a 19 game professional contract the next day that, with a share of gate receipts, would come to over $100,000. This at a time when the average player made less than $100 a game. The signing of Grange and the huge crowds he generated changed the public view of professional football and brought the NFL into the mainstream of American sports. Stub is VG with a couple of creases. Front is clean but back has some discoloration covering about 85% of the surface from where the ticket was originally attached to an album page.
Nice group of early Red Grange/Illinois football memorabilia.
