1921 Cleveland Indians "Old Timers" Panorama Including Cy Young - With an exposed dimension of 7-1/4" x 26" (then beautifully matted and framed to 16" x 35"), we behold the proud participants of an old-timers event once held in Cleveland. Splendidly identified in white pen are the principals in the gala event. In the upper aspect of the panorama (and by the same hand), there appears the title, "Old Timers Base Ball Team - Cleveland, Ohio's 125th Anniversary, Dunn Field, July 29, 1921, Old Timers 11 - Former Amateurs (sic) 8." This is a magnificent photograph, projecting at the EX to MT-NM level and featuring several who are today Cooperstown-enshrined. Conversely, a few of these figures were indeed "amateurs" and this event was likely their only brush with fame. Specifically, though, we identify Heinie Berger, Frank Knauss, Charlie (Piano Legs) Hickman, Bill Bradley, Jesse Burkett, Chief Zimmer, Neal Ball, a rather portly Cy Young, Nap Lajoie, Nick Altrock, Larry Twitchell, Harry Bay, Elmer Flick, Bunk Congalton, Terry Turner, Paddy Livingston, Earl Moore, Ollie Pickering and Red Nelson.
