PSA could not identify the exact year of the ticket but it can be narrowed down to the above mentioned years as Charles W. Murphy, whose name appears on the ticket, owned the Chicago Cubs between 1906 and 1913. We believe there is a good probability that it dates from either 1906 or 1907 as the stub is for "Game No. 1" and the Cubs opened the World Series at home those two years. In 1908 and 1910 they opened the Series on the road. If it is from 1906 it would be the oldest World Series ticket ever graded by PSA. From 1906 thru 1908 the Chicago Cubs dominated baseball by going 116-36, 107-45, and 99-55 respectively then winning three straight World Series. Stub grades PSA 4 VG-EX but displays much better. Crease free and very clean both front and back the main reason for the grade appears to be the rounding on the upper and lower right corners. Definitely a very rare piece of Chicago Cub and early World Series history.
