Early scorecard from the 2nd year of the newly formed national League between the eventual Champion Boston Red caps and the 4th place St. Louis Brown Stockings. Game features such early stars as Hall of Famer Jim O'Rourke as well as 19th Century stars George Wright, Honest John Morrill and Tommy Bond. From the neatly filled in scorecard it appears Bond won the game that day, 7-1, one of the 40 wins he would rack up in 1877. Overall nice condition piece with only heavy creasing across the middle where the card was originally folded. As mentioned before, the program is very neatly scored inside with quite a bit of pencil writing on the outside. This includes updates to League standings as well as other scores and some random addition. Outstanding piece from the earliest beginnings of the great game of professional baseball.
