Outstanding Roberto Clemente Hillerich & Bradsby professional model U1 game used ash bat from the 1970-1972 labeling period. Clemente remains one of the most beloved and admired players ever to play the game. His tragic death on December 31, 1972 while attempting to deliver supplies to earthquake victims in Nicaragua will forever be remembered. Bat is 36 inches long and weighs 37 ounces. "U1" stamped into knob with Clemente's #21 in black sharpie present on both knob and end of barrel. Uncracked bat exhibits light use with ball marks and ball stitch impressions on the left barrel. The fact the bat has lighter use can be considered a player characteristic for Clemente, as it was common for the Pittsburgh right fielder to use a bat only a time or two. This fact has been confirmed by a former Pirate clubhouse attendant, John Hallahan. Full LOA from PSA/DNA with a strong GU 8 rating.
