During the early 1940's when a very young John Holway caught the Homestead Grays at Washington D.C.'s Griffith Stadium he was mesmerized by the greats on the ball field including first baseman Buck Leonard. Twenty-five years later as Holway honed his skills as the per-eminent historian of the Negro Leagues, the author became great friends with Hall of Famer Buck Leonard. This fantastic lot contains correspondence from Leonard to Holway including 17 separate hand written postcards, a nice Hall of Fame plaque signed
"Walter F. Buck Leonard", a Christmas card and four (4) hand written letters. LOA from PSA/DNA.
Large Lot (24 Items) of Buck Leonard Signed Correspondence To John Holway
