Outstanding, vintage black and white photo signed by legendary New York Yankee Hall of Fame first baseman Lou Gehrig sometime during the late 1920's early 1930's. Photo was originally obtained from Lou Gehrig by Blanche Cox, head buyer for the Meier & Franks stores, who traveled extensively to New York by train on buying trips and became friends with Gehrig, Babe Ruth, and other sports and entertainment celebrities. Blanche gave the photo to her favorite nephew, Bobby, who treasured it throughout his life. A full page letter from the consignor explaining all these events is included with the photo. Beautiful 8-9/10 appearing vintage black ink "To Bobby With Kindest Regards Lou Gehrig" is perfectly placed across Gehrig's chest. Photo itself is a very appealing EX+ with a couple of small scrapes on the front and some damage at the top 2 corners on the back from album removal.
