This famous photograph captures the two great sluggers together during their 1927-28 barnstorming tour. The "Bustin' Babes" and "Larrupin Lou's" tour was wildly successful and provided fans in cities lacking a major league team the rare opportunity to see the great Babe Ruth and Lou Gehrig in action. The tour also availed the players of additional earnings and some speculate that Gehrig made more on his barnstorming trips than he did during the regular season. This specific image was produced specifically for this tour as a promotional item available to fans, each copy bearing facsimile autographs of both Ruth and Gehrig. The owner of this example was prescient and had the Iron Horse personally add an authentic signature with inscription: “To Paul/With Kindest Regards….” Gehrig's elegant writing rates 8/10. Gehrig signed images are notoriously rare, particularly those of this size and quality. This exquisite example is triple-matted and framed and ready to hang immediately!
