The late Lou Brissie was a solid southpaw who pitched for the Philadelphia A’s and then the Cleveland Indians from 1947 to 1953. This lot includes a collection of four autographed and personally inscribed black-and-white photos to Brissie from years ago from the likes of Connie Mack (11” x 14” portrait) and Ted Williams, Rudy York and Bob Avila (the latter four are all 8” x 10” shots). Each of the inscriptions yields a heartfelt message to Brissie. All are legible although the Ted Williams’ signature and inscription shows serious fading over time since it was written in 1950. The accompanying two type-written letters to Brissie unveils two more personal messages from Richard Nixon (dated Jan. 15, 1958), who was then serving as the Vice President of the United States; and, from Will Harridge (dated July 2, 1949), who served as President of the American League and was sending Brissie a letter confirming his selection to that year’s American League All-Star team.

Includes LOA from the Family of Lou Brassie. Autographs pre-certified by PSA/DNA.
