Affectionately referred to by fans simply as "The Murph" and "El Murph" by Spanish speakers, Jack Murphy was a popular sports editor and columnist for the San Diego Union newspaper from 1951–1980. Jack Murphy Stadium, former home of the San Diego Padres and San Diego Chargers was named in his honor.
Presented here is a collection of 38 different World Series press pins collected by Murphy throughout his career. The pins span from 1957-1979. The pins and pressed on to a felt covered foam board for display but can be easily removed. Clasps are absent. All pins are in outstanding condition with little to no apparent wear.
