Even after his playing days were over, Bill “Moose” Skowron kept in close touch with his great friends from Major League Baseball, especially New York Yankees teammate Mickey Mantle. They had forged a friendship that could never be broken. This lot includes two Mickey Mantle and Bill “Moose” Skowron dual-signed color 8” by 10” photos and two unsigned copies of the same color photo showing them both clowning around perhaps – judging by Mantle’s pinstriped uniform – prior to the start of a Yankees Old-Timer’s Game. In the photo, Skowron is dressed as a woman with a curly blonde wig, sunglasses and a skirt, and Mantle has a surprised look on his face. Both Mantle and Skowron’s signatures are in blue marker and are solid 9/10 autographs.
