From the indomitable Larry Bird, one of the NBA's most revered players from the closing years of the 20th century, come these game-worn Converse All-Stars black sneakers. Bird's work ethic, determination and competitive fire were the trademarks of the Celtics teams he led during the 1980s and '90s. For 13 seasons with the Celtics, from 1979-80 through 1991-92, Bird personified hustle, consistency and excellence in all areas of play - as a scorer, a passer, a rebounder, a defender, a team player, and, perhaps above all, a clutch performer. He helped rebuild a Celtics franchise that had been suffering from substandard play and poor attendance in the late 1970's, providing a left - with his arch-rival Magic Johnson - that ultimately rejuvenated the league itself. These custom size black leather Converse All-Stars sneakers show substantial game wear, retaining excellent display quality, with all elements essentially as-issued and problem-free. Bird's autograph appears on both shoes in black ink on one of the white panels; considerable fading - more evident on the left shoe - dims the autographs a bit, which also includes his inscription "To Big Bill" on each. A classic pair of vintage game sneakers from an NBA icon.

Comes with a Letter of Authenticity from Bill Ficke)
