Offered here is a pair of David Thompson game-worn and autographed high top canvas sneakers. The college basketball superstar out of NC State went on to play 10 fabulous seasons in the ABA and NBA. He was inducted into the Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame in 1996. These shoes date to the late 1970's when Thompson was a perennial All-Star for the Denver Nuggets. The white PONY Chevron Design shoes, with the sky blue PONY logo and stripes, measure 12 1/2 inches long (about a size 15). Each one is signed by David Thompson on the outer ankle in 8/10 black pen. They both have some minor staining and a piece of the rubber end is partially broken off the right shoe. The original laces are fully intact. They were presented as game-used and in our opinion show appropriate wear.

Pre-certified by PSA/DNA.

Includes Letter of Provenance from collector Bruce Tennen.

Bruce Tennen's passion for Tigers baseball as a boy eventually lead him to pursue a career in the sports industry, covering Arizona teams as an AP journalist in the late 70’s and working in the front office for the San Diego Clippers in the early 80’s. He would later move on to a successful career in mortgage banking, arranging credit and acquisition funding for numerous Pistons players, executives and broadcasters. Bruce has been fortunate enough to build relationships with dozens of professional athletes and team executives, giving him the connections necessary to build his impressive collection.
