This celestrium ring was awarded to the Phillies' Larry Bowa for his selection to the 1981 Major League All-Star Game, held in Cleveland's Municipal Stadium. The ring, manufactured by Balfour, displays a half-sphere blue stone surrounded by a beveled border: the interior of the perimeter is engraved "National / American," and the outer edge features six CZ stones and the raised lettering, "BASEBALL ALL STAR." Set onto one of the ring's shanks is a "1981 All-Star Game" design that is sandwiched top to bottom between "BOWA" and "CLEVELAND." The other shank carries logos of the American League, National League and Major League Baseball. The ring originates from the National League's front office, as Bowa was selected for the team but did not play. Comes with the original Balfour presentation box of 3 1/4-by-2 5/8 inches with gold-painted metal edging. Box presents about Excellent, with a bit of wear revealed on the left side of the edging. The ring itself is in essentially as-issued and problem-free condition.
