Presented here is a vintage photograph capturing a defining moment that transcends mere athletic achievement. This iconic image immortalizes Jesse Owens' triumphant victory during the tumultuous 1936 Berlin Summer Olympics, where he defied adversity and prejudice to claim the gold medal in the long jump event. The 8x10 photo transports us back in time to that hallowed day in August 1936 when the world was spellbound by Owens' determination and his incredible performance in the clutch. With the Olympic stadium as a backdrop, the snapshot depicts Owens on the podium, standing tall and proud as he receives one of his four gold medals. Also pictured is silver medalist Luz Long from Germany (who famously befriended Owens during competition and even gave him tips to win) and bronze medalist Naoto Tajima. Above the image, Owens has autographed and inscribed the photo “To Mike, My Best Wishes.” His blue marker autograph (8/10 in strength) has been authenticated by PSA/DNA (encapsulation to be completed shortly).
