A month after the beloved "Iron Horse" succumbed to amyotrophic lateral sclerosis at age 37, a memorial was held at Yankee Stadium to honor Gehrig and forever retire his famous number "4". The original bearer of this rare ticket was among the few who failed to join the full house to honor the Yankees immortal captain. The full, unused ticket features a striking image of Gehrig at the center and has been neatly stamped "void" twice on the back. Additionally, a small ink smudge appears below the name "LOU" in the black box to the left of center. The ticket has been encapsulated by PSA and graded 6 EX-MT. Only two other examples of this ticket have been graded higher by PSA.
