These roller skates started life as a perfect pair of Julius "Dr. J" Erving's game worn basketball shoes, circa early 1980's. These size 15 "Dr J" Converse All Star shoes were custom made for the basketball star and each shoe still includes his custom orthotic inserts. Both shoes show great game use and are signed by Erving in black sharpie. The wife of one of Dr. J's close friends converted the sneakers into roller skates for him. This vintage conversion could be easily reversed leaving only four small holes in each sole.
