The 1984 NBA All-Star game at Denver’s McNichols Arena saw the East record their fifth consecutive victory, setting a scoring record with 154 points in an overtime thriller. The game also marked the very first edition of the Dunk Contest. It was a high level competion with a number of great aerial specialists. Julius Erving was the first player to get a 50 (perfect dunk), but the winner was Larry Nance.
