Issued to Dr. J upon his entrance into the NBA in 1976, this is his personal copy of the league's Collective Bargaining Agreement, or "CBA". The Collective Bargaining Agreement is the contract between the NBA (the commissioner and the 30 team owners) and the NBA Players Association that dictates the rules of player contracts, trades, revenue distribution, the NBA Draft, and the salary cap, among other things. The bound volume includes over 100 pages of interesting data. Erving has autographed the cover in black sharpie. This is a very topical piece given the recent expiring of the NBA's CBA following the 2010–11 season and the ensuing lockout.
