It is a testimony to the kind of reverence that fans held for John Havlicek that so many diverse groups clamored to honor the Celtic great upon the occasion of his retirement in 1978. In this instance, the NBA timers, scorekeepers and statisticians presented Havlicek with this 14-inch high trophy, featuring a 10-inch silver champagne bowl mounted atop an 8 1/2-inch-square wood base (4 inches high). Elegant engraving on the champagne bowl notes "Captain John Havlicek, Boston Celtics, No. 17"; a 6-by-2-inch name plate on the front has an engraved thank you and statement of appreciation from the timers, scorekeepers and statisticians, along with the April 6, 1978 date of the presentation. Two identical-sized nameplates on the right and left sides list the 11 names of the presenters. On the top of the wooden base, Havlicek signed his name in attractive silver Sharpie. The entire piece appears to be in as-issued and problem-free condition, with the silver bowl showing the expected tarnishing. Comes with a Letter of Authenticity from John Havlicek.

Pre-certified by PSA/DNA.
