This was the ball used in the Jan. 3, 1975 game between the Celtics and their arch-rival Los Angeles Lakers that witnessed John Havlicek logging his 21,587th point, putting him in fifth place all-time at that moment. The official NBA ball shows good use, along with elaborate gold and black block-letter printing added to provide the details of the historic moment. One panel has “John Havlicek,” while a second has “21,587th Point, 5th All Time NBA High Scorer, Boston vs. Lakers, at Los Angeles, Jan. 3, 1975.” Directly beneath that panel Havlicek has added a gold Sharpie autograph.
