This is Havlicek's uniform from arguably one of the most significant contests of the era: the All-Star battle of the established NBA players with their fledgling rivals from the maverick American Basketball Association. No doubt with an approving eye towards the NFL's recently launched Super Bowl - which seemed to be gaining a good deal of popularity with fans and had NFL officials imagining a big future - this first meeting between the NBA and the upstart ABA was dubbed "SuperGame I," and in keeping with the penchant for ostentation and hyperbole, was held at the Astrodome in Houston. With John Havlicek contributing 10 points to this history-making moment, the older league prevailed, 125-120, and this blazing white jersey and shorts is from that epic contest. Those 10 points and Havlicek's LOA attest to the game usage of an specimen that has been maintained - like so much of his unprecedented personal collection - in almost perfect condition for more than a half-century. It's also breathtaking in its blizzard of whiteness, set off by startling red letters and numerals and blue (jersey) and red-and-blue piping (shorts). The Belean Athletic Wear-tagged jersey is captivating in its whiteness and simplicity, with the incomparable Havlicek autograph appearing in black Sharpie on the embroidered red "7" on the back of the jersey. The jersey and similarly tagged Belen Athletic Wear shorts are in essentially as-issued and problem-free condition, with no alterations of any kind visible and minimal fraying on piping or embroidered letters or numbers.

Comes with a Letter of Authenticity from John Havlicek.

Pre-certified by PSA/DNA.
