Almost certainly the most comprehensive published compilation about the life and exploits of any single athlete or celebrity, the DiMaggio Albums, published in 1989, might be dubbed the ultimate DiMaggio Scrapbook. Two pristine, virtually as-issued hardbound volumes, each 400 pages with black-and-white and color photography throughout, chronicles his entire career starting in the minor leagues in 1932. As noted, the two volumes are almost precisely as initially published, with no discernible flaws or wear or even a suggestion that the 9.5-by-11-inch books have been even lightly perused. The title page of the first volume boasts a blazing blue Sharpie 9/10 DiMaggio autograph, which like the volumes could hardly be improved upon. The bright-red slip case, which includes a color photo of DiMaggio in a batting pose, would like be dubbed in matching condition to the inside volumes, save only for some light scuffing on the back and the bottom.
