An imposing physical specimen with bulging muscles, Jimmie Foxx was more than just a slugger - he twice led the AL in batting and in 1945, at the tail end of his career, he pitched for the Phillies - winning a game and posting a 1.59 ERA. In his prime he challenged Babe Ruth's single-season home run record, won three MVP awards, and the Triple Crown. He won two World Series titles with Connie Mack's Athletics, and retired as the second leading home run hitter of all-time. As most single signed baseball collectors know, high grade Foxx examples are among the most elusive of the all the 500 Home Run Club members. We unabashedly state that this example is among the finest single signed Jimmie Foxx balls known. His large black ink signature commands the full breadth of the sweet spot of a clean, unused Worth brand Little League ball. The signature rates 8/10 conservatively, while the ball is in near mint condition overall. LOA from PSA/DNA.
