John Elway’s exit from the National Football League could not have been scripted any better. After leading his Denver Broncos to the AFC title, the quarterback extraordinaire led them to victory in Super Bowl XXXIII by beating the NFC Champion Atlanta Falcons, 34-19. In the game, Elway completed 18 of 29 pass attempts for 336 yards including an 80-yard scoring strike to Rod Smith. For good measure, Elway also rushed for a three-yard score in the fourth quarter. This lot includes an actual game-used football from Super Bowl XXXIII on January 31, 1999, at Pro Player Stadium in Miami, Florida, that Elway has signed in 9-10/10 silver. He’s added his uniform number “7” after his signature. As it turned out, Elway was named the MVP of the game, making it super special as it was the final NFL game of his illustrious Hall of Fame career.
