In conjunction with the NBA’s 50th Anniversary in 1996, the NBA named it’s 50 greatest players. Remarkably, 49 of the 50 players selected were alive and present when they were honored as part of the 1996-97 All-Star festivities. A magnificent creation was unveiled during that event in the form of a series of 25” x 39” lithographs. These incredible pieces were printed on the highest quality acid-free paper and bear the likeness of each of the 50 greatest players as selected by the NBA itself. Each player singed the lithos in pencil beneath their image. The edition was limited to 250 individually numbered pieces worldwide with only 50 numbered “Legends” editions offered to the public. Most significantly, each player was given their own personal copy that was numbered 1 of 1 in exchange for their signatures. Offered here is Los Angeles Lakers Hall of Famer James Worthy’s personal copy, numbered “Worthy 1/1”. Very rarely do player editions come on the market, and this, without question, is among the more significant examples ever offered publicly. The NBA’s 50 Greatest litho is easily the greatest lithograph series ever created in any sport. This is a rare opportunity to acquire a prominent Player’s Edition example from the esteemed edition. Framed to museum standards and accompanied by an LOA from James Worthy.
