ADDENDUM: There are actually three UCLA game programs, not two as the catalog states.

Before Jackie Robinson broke through the big leagues with the Brooklyn Dodgers, and even before he was a multi-sport star at UCLA, he attended Pasadena Junior College. There, the athletic specimen excelled in baseball, track and field, football, and basketball for PJC. Robinson is pictured several times in this 1938 school yearbook (9" x 11.75"), including the varsity football (pg. 119), basketball (pg. 132), baseball (pg. 138) and track & field teams. "CAMPUS" adorns the olive green cover with "1938" on the lower side binding, both in red. He would graduate in '39 and transfer to UCLA. The binding has torn and come undone on the bottom half. Overall, it presents in VG condition.

In addition, this unique lot showcases Robinson, wearing #28, in three UCLA Bruins varsity football programs from the 1940 season that are included in this lot: October 12 vs. Texas A&M (pictured leaping/throwing w/ bio); November 2 vs. Stanford (halfback carrying ball); and Nov. 23 vs. Washington (halfback carrying ball). The latter comes in EX-MT condition while the other two are VG/EX. The fourth and final program is the rarest piece in this whole lot: an August 28, 1941 All-Star Football Game (8th Annual) program of a contest at Soldier Field in Chicago between the College All-Americans and Chicago Bears. Jackie is listed on the College All-Stars roster (pg. 37) and is pictured in the same leaping/throwing pose (this time much larger) on page 49. Appearing EX-MT/NM, you will be hard-pressed to find one of these in such great condition, let alone one at all. Five early publications of the American sports legend that any true Jackie collector must have.
