Vince Ferragamo, an All American quarterback at Nebraska and member of the "500 Club" which is reserved for QB's that have passed for 500 yards in a single game, started for the NFC champion Los Angeles Rams in Super Bowl XIV. Vince has the unique distinction of being the first quarterback to start in a Super Bowl the same season as his first career start.
Presented here is Vince's 1979 Los Angeles Rams 10K Gold NFC Championship "prototype" ring made by Balfour. It features the Rams logo made with 12 REAL diamonds resting against the blue stone backdrop, which is surrounded by LOS ANGELES RAMS 1979 NFC CHAMPS. One shank carries a raised image of Super Bowl XIV with the Los Angeles skyline logo on one side, with "FERRAGAMO", "15", and raised image of a navy blue enameled Rams helmet on the other. Inside stamped "LGB 10K" and a unique bezel number.
The championship ring by Balfour is 100% authentic. A very unique and stunning ring designed for the Rams, the production was ultimately awarded to Josten's, making this example a very rare piece of NFL championship jewelry. The ring is size 10 and weighs an impressive 28.3 grams of solid 10K gold with 12 REAL diamonds. It is presented in the original Balfour ring box.
