Joe Montana’s rookie season was spent as the 49ers backup to Steve DeBerg. The team eased Montana into the action by giving him playing time in all 16 games during the season. On September 16, 1979, the 49ers were playing the Rams at LA’s Coliseum when Joe Montana recorded the first of his eventual 3,409 pass completions. The historic moment came when the rookie connected with Phil Francis for an eight-yard gain on a fake field goal attempt. This full ticket to this important game shows light toning from age and some surface abrasions. There are two punch holes and the expected wear along the perforated edges. The ticket has been encapsulated and graded Authentic by PSA.
