Ichiro’s rookie season in 2001 was a break-through for Japanese players. Although several players had played in the US before him, Ichiro was already a huge star in Japan and was the first who was able to transfer his Nippon Professional Baseball success to the Major Leagues. Ichiro hit .350 with 56 stolen bases, the first to lead his league in both categories since Jackie Robinson had done it in 1949. With his talent evident right from the start, Ichiro was voted to the ’01 All-Star team. In the game Ichiro went 1 for 3 as the AL beat the NL 4-1. This is limited edition number 7 of 15 All-Star jerseys that Ichiro signed and dated.

The special green mesh 2001 All-Star jersey has “AMERICAN” and the Mariners compass/ball logo in navy, red, white, silver and teal tackle twill. White piping rings the front opening and arm holes and a Russell Athletic label is sewn in the lower left front tail. The right sleeve features the Seattle Mariners logo patch while the left carries the 2001 All-Star Game patch. A Majestic label with a size “l” tag is sewn inside the collar. “ICHIRO” and his number “51” in white tackle twill. The Mariners star has signed the “5” in blue marker in both English and Kanji (Japanese dialect) and dated it “7-10-01”. A “7/15” is in blue marker on the “1”. Original Majestic/MLB tags still affixed and comes with a numbered COA from All-American Collectibles.

Pre-certified by PSA/DNA.
