In his retirement Willie Mays has made infrequent public appearances and participated in far fewer public signings than his most of his Hall of Fame contemporaries. The significance of this lot lies not only in the quantity of Mays single signed balls offered but the quality. All 123 Rawlings OML (Selig) baseballs feature Mays' perfect blue ink signature on the sweet spot and each bears the Willie Mays "Say Hey Authenticated" hologram. The balls are all snow white and each one has been encapsulated and graded by PSA/DNA per the following breakdown: 66 GEM MINT 10; 43 MINT 9.5; and 14 MINT 9. Each ball comes with own separate LOA from PSA/DNA.
