Honus Wagner sent this postcard from Hot Springs, Arkansas to his future wife Bessie Smith on March 13, 1913 while away at Spring training with the Pirates. He has addressed it to "Miss Bessie B. Smith" and writes, "Hello Mucher, it is raining and thundering good and hard. This work by the weather man will mean a day off. Rest for us unless it stops soon. did not hear from you yet. i guess i will have to send you a duck. Jay". He has signed it "Jay" as he was known to her. It is written and addressed in black ink entirely in Wagner's hand. Postcard front pictures a cannon and is titled "Government Reservation, Hot Springs, Ark.".
