Honus Wagner sent this postcard from Louisville, Kentucky to his future wife Bessie Smith on March 8, 1914 during a road trip with the Pirates. He writes, "Hello Budy (nickname), We are staying here for five hours and then we are starting again. Weather here cold. Pretty long ride. Have a hitcher. Can't get any...(?). Need one. How's Jake ans Angee?" He has signed it "Best Regards, Jay" as he was known to her. It is written and addressed in pencil entirely in Wagner's hand. Postcard front pictures a fountain and pavilion at Cherokee Park in Louisville. This postcard originates directly from the Houns wagner Estate. Signature a 7-8/10 with postcard about VG.
