In 1954, the Brooklyn Dodgers were managed by first-year skipper Walter Alston and posted a regular-season record of 92-62, finishing five games behind the eventual World Series Champion New York Giants. Offered here is a beautifully preserved Dodgers team-signed baseball from that memorable season. 26 team members are featured on a minty, cream-colored ONL baseball with crisp, dark stampings: Walt Alston and Tom Lasorda share the sweet spot; East Panel—Jackie Robinson, Pete Wojey, Gil Hodges, Sandy Amoros, Clem Labine, and Russ Meyer; West Panel—Duke Snider, Don Hoak, Carl Furillo, Billy Cox, and George Shuba; North Panel—Bob Darnell, John Podres, Preacher Roe, Carl Erskine, Clem Labine, Pee Wee Reese, and Erv Palica; South Panel—Roy Campanella, Jake Pitler, Walt Moryn, Don Newcombe, Jim Hughes, and Jim Gilliam. Signatures average “9” on this virtually unbeatable example! PSA/DNA has designated the Snider and Reese signatures as “Clubhouse”.
