George Sosnak (1924-1992) was a self-taught artist who devoted his life to the game of baseball as a fan player and minor league umpire. His hand-painted baseballs the work he's best known for have been displayed in such museums as the Baseball Hall of Fame in Cooperstown NY and at the American Folk Museum in NYC. This Sosnak creation honors the 1957 American Association Western League All-Star Game held in West Texas. A player from each team is depicted along with an umpire. Commissioned to be given as a gift Sosnak's painted inscription reads "To Kay from Dave With Love". The ball's condition is perfect with vibrant color and no chipping. A classic example of Sosnak's artistry.
