This lot offers a unique collection of seven autographed index cards from the Philadelphia Sports Writer's Association Annual Dinner that occurred on January 29th, 1942. Derived from a connection through Hugh Mulcahy, whose autograph is present on one of the index cards, this collection features an array of sports and entertainment greats. One ballplayer is Hans Lobert, who served as Mulcahy's pitching coach during his younger years. Another notable baseball signature featured is Connie Mack, which remains in mint condition. Other ballplayers included are Lefty Grove and Joe DiMaggio. Joe E. Brown, who was a popular actor and comedian is also included as he was in attendance at the annual dinner. Lastly, Bob Montgomery, who was an American lightweight boxer who won the World Lightweight Championship in 1943 and 1944. A one-of-a-kind collection from the winter night in 1942. Each autograph has been pre-certified by Beckett Authentication Services.
