Presented here are two PSA/DNA authenticated and sharply encapsulated signed 3" x 5" autographed index cards by baseball legends Gil Hodges and Hank Greenberg. Each has classic penmanship.
Hodges (D. 1972) is a recent Hall of Fame inductee (what took so long?) and is forever linked with the iconic baseball entities known as "The Boys of Summer" 1950's Brooklyn Dodgers and the 1969 Miracle Mets. Hard to top that!
Greenberg (D. 1986) is a long-time Hall of Famer and hero from his many years as a Detroit Tiger. Note that the Greenberg index card has some staining, but it does not affect the autograph. The Hodges is flawless.
Provenance: Our consignor collected sports autographs in the late 1960’s through the mid-1970’s while living in the Cincinnati, Ohio area. Along with getting autographs at Cincinnati Bengals training camp, Cincinnati Royals NBA games, Cincinnati Reds games and opponents Cincinnati team hotels, he was active mailing to players during these years, including their sports cards, magazine photos and index cards to be signed and returned in stamped self-addressed envelopes. While he quit collecting in the mid-1970's, he always kept his collection nearby, although sometimes packed away for long periods of time. He recently "rediscovered" his collection, and ultimately decided it was time to give his autographed treasures a second life.
