Offensive lineman George Starke played more than a decade in the NFL, all spent with the Washington Redskins. Starke was the “Head Hog” of Washington’s famed offensive line nicknamed “The Hogs” and was an integral part of the ’Skins back-to-back Super Bowl appearances in 1982 and 1983. After getting himself a Super Bowl ring the previous year, the 6’ 5” 260-lb. Tackle was awarded this NFC Championship following the Redskins’ loss to the L.A. Raiders in Super Bowl XVIII.

The 10-karat gold ring features 18 diamonds mounted on a burgundy stone surmounted by a football-shaped ruby. “WASHINGTON REDSKINS N.F.C. CHAMPIONS 1983” encircles the stones. The left shank has “STARKE” and his number “74” along with the Redskins logo in raised gold. The right shank features the NFC logo with “WASHINGTON REDSKINS” engraved on a ribbon above the Super Bowl XVIII logo. A “10K Jostens” hallmark is found inside the band. The massive size 13.75 ring (50g) presents in great overall condition with the minor surface wear and scuffing from use and age. A rare player’s version of this fine-looking Conference Champions ring from one of the ‘Skins most beloved players.
