Late basketball sensation and former Minneapolis Lakers mainstay George “Mr. Basketball” Mikan enjoyed the game of golf as well. Offered here is a special golf trophy that Mikan was awarded at the 1990 Pro Hoops Celebrity Golf Classic. Measuring 14” tall, the two-tiered trophy sports a wood base upon which stands an 11-inch tall bronze figure of a weathered golfer attempting a crucial putt. The front of the trophy’s base is adorned with a black-and-gold engraved plaque that reads: “GEORGE MIKAN with Warm and Deep Appreciation Thanks for your Support Pro Hoops Celebrity Golf Classic 1990.”
