Offered here is a February 3, 2008, Super Bowl XLII N.Y. Giants vs. New England Patriots game used football most likely thrown by Tom Brady during the memorable showdown at University of Phoenix Stadium in Glendale, AZ. Since kickoff balls are almost always stamped "K" and smoothed over for improved aerodynmics on the long boots, this "PATRIOTS" branded ball with ample gripping grooves on the leather is one of just a handful of balls used by the New England offense and Tommy Terrific himself.
The football remains in excellent shape and features a gold Super Bowl XLII logo on its main panel along with “THE DUKE”, the Wilson brand logo, and Roger Goodell’s engraved autograph. The opposite side of the ball reads “NATIONAL FOOTBALL LEAGUE” in gold lettering along with both team names. The Giants would go on to win this game, 17-14, with the help of the famous “helmet catch” by David Tyree on New York's game-winning TD drive that ended the Pats' title hopes and prevented a historic undefeated season for Coach Belichick, Brady, Randy Moss and company. This lot is accompanied by a COA from PSA/DNA (#24 out of 53 Game Footballs).
