1980 National League All-Star Game ring given to former Dodgers General Manager Fred Claire. This game marked the second time Los Angeles ever hosted the All Star Game, and the first time it was ever played at Dodger Stadium. The Midsummer Classic did not return to Chavez Ravine again until this season. The top of the ring features a 5 pointed star design set atop a dark black stone surrounded by "Baseball All-Star". On one shank, "Claire" is found above the MLB logo and "Major League Baseball." The opposite shank features "LA 1980" "American National" and the Dodgers logo. The inside of the ring is stamped "BALFOUR STAINLESS". The ring weighs 15 grams and is a size 11. part of the Claire Collection.

Fred Claire was a longtime member of the Dodgers front office. He was the general manager of the team from 1987 to 1998. After a dismal 1987 season, Claire built the team into a contender overnight. After aquiring players like Kirk Gibson, the Dodgers won the 1988 World Series over the heavily favored Oakland A's in just five games. A portion of the proceeds from each of Claire's items in this auction will go to the City of Hope.
