Very fine Type 1 first generation 8" by 10" photograph of the 1932 World Champion New York Yankees by the Cosmo-Sileo Co. features the Bronx Bombers posing in their home pinstripes on the field. The sepia toned image features impeccable clarity and contrast with a quality matte finish. What's most intriguing is that the image shows World Series stadium bunting on the wall behind the first row of players, as well as some that has been removed and put into a pile at left. Most stock team photos are taken at the beginning of the season. This image appears to have been captured after the Yankees had swept the Chicago Cubs in the acrimonious series that included Ruth’s fabled “Called Shot”. Titling embedded in the image reads “N.Y. Yankees World Champions 1932” and the Cosmo-Sileo photographers mark appears at left. The back is blank. With the 1932 World Series having concluded in Chicago, it must have taken some logistical maneuvering within a small window of time to assemble the team for this photo. Outstanding EX-MT condition. Includes a LOA from PSA/DNA (Type 1 – First Generation).
