On March 28th, 2019 it was a sunny day in beautiful San Diego, California and the Padres were eager to begin their MLB campaign, especially with a new name on the roster surrounded by all the hype in the league, Fernando Tatis Jr. In the matchup versus the San Francisco Giants, Tatis became the youngest player to start on Opening Day in the past 20 years. The twenty-year-old did not disappoint as he hit a single in the second inning and another in the fifth. With the 2/3 afternoon, Tatis became the youngest player to record a multi-hit game on Opening Day since Robin Yount in 1975. The Padres would go on to win the game in a 2-0 shutout to begin the season.

This lot offers Fernando Tatis Jr.'s game worn Speedcoupe 100% sunglasses from his MLB Debut. Tatis autographed the lenses and also inscribed "MLB Debut" in silver permanent marker for excellent appeal. The sunglasses remain in pristine condition and would display nicely in any serious collection. They have been affixed with a USA Sports Marketing hologram on the rear of the lenses  (Cert. #: U19504). A truly one of a kind piece from Opening Day and the start of a potential Hall of Fame career. The sunglasses are also accompanied by a full Beckett LOA for the autograph and inscription.
