On March 28th, 2019 it was a sunny day in beautiful San Diego, California and the Padres were eager to begin their MLB campaign, especially with a new name on the roster surrounded by all the hype in the league, Fernando Tatis Jr. In the matchup versus the San Francisco Giants, Tatis became the youngest player to start on Opening Day in the past 20 years. The twenty-year-old did not disappoint as he hit a single in the second inning and another in the fifth. With the 2/3 afternoon, Tatis became the youngest player to record a multi-hit game on Opening Day since Robin Yount in 1975. The Padres would go on to win the game in a 2-0 shutout to begin the season.

Offered in this lot is Fernando Tatis Jr.'s MLB Debut game worn San Diego Padres cap. The New Era hat dons a 50-year memorial patch for the San Diego Padres as well as an MLB 150 patch on the right panel. The 7.75 sized cap remains in excellent condition and is inscribed with "23" on the inner portion denoting Tatis' number. An MLB Authentication hologram has been affixed under the bill pertaining to its game use (Cert. #: JD599155). An incredible piece of history from one of the biggest phenom's the sport has seen in the past 20 years. At only 23 years old, Tatis' has received one All-Star game honors, 2020 & 2021 All-MLB Team honors, and two Silver Sluggers (2020,2021). A once in a lifetime opportunity to own a part of San Diego Padres and Fernando Tatis Jr. history.
