On Feb. 6, 2005, the New England Patriots secured their third Super Bowl title in four years by defeating the NFC Champion Philadelphia Eagles, 24-21. Patriots wide receiver Deion Branch was named Super Bowl MVP after recording 133 receiving yards and tying the Super Bowl record with 11 catches. Because he recorded 10 catches during the previous year's Super Bowl, he also set the record for the most combined receptions (21) in two consecutive Super Bowls. Branch was the third offensive player ever to win Super Bowl MVP honors without scoring a touchdown or throwing a touchdown pass. The other two players were Joe Namath in Super Bowl III and Fred Biletnikoff in Super Bowl XI. This lot includes a game-used and specially logoed Super Bowl XXXIX Wilson football signed in silver by Branch! He’s added his uniform number “83” after his signature. The solid signature rates a 9/10 in our book!

It should be noted that this Super Bowl XXXIX game-used football signed by MVP Deion Branch helps complete the consignor's incredible collection of Super Bowl I through XLVIII MVP signed balls featured in Lot 1024.

Comes with a Letter of Game-Used Authenticity from PSA/DNA and includes a Letter of Provenance from collector Robert Zweigle.

Autograph pre-certified by PSA/DNA.
