By 1989, Mike Tyson was the most famous boxer in the world. For two years he reigned supreme as the undisputed world heavyweight champion and as such, he was much in demand for all categories of advertising and endorsement deals. In August of 1989, Tyson was on location in El Mirage, California filming a series of truck commercials for Toyota. This extraordinary still from the commercial set depicts Tyson in a classic boxing pose, his right guarding his head and his left coiled and ready to launch one of his devastating blows. The photo has been printed to the edge with no white borders. The edges show some wear with the top. Left and right corners showing some scuffing. The reverse of the photo has a John Paschal Celebrity Photo stamp along with an August 4, 1989 dated caption slug. The reverse shows some staining, though this does not affect the caption slug nor the front image. Certainly one of the most dramatic and aesthetically pleasing posed Type 1 photos of Mike Tyson. The photo has been encapsulated and graded a Type 1 by PSA.
