The 1931 USC Trojans football team coached by Howard H. Jones won the national championship. After suffering a season-opening (13-7) loss to St. Mary's, the Trojans went on to beat 10 straight opponents including Notre Dame (16-14) and Georgia (60-0) with six of the victories coming by way of shutouts. In the 1932 Rose Bowl, USC defeated Tulane, 21-12. This lot includes an oversized (40” wide by 16” high) black-and-white photo of that year’s team, complete with three assistants and Coach Jones. A total of 44 team members are pictured including quarterback Gus Shaver and halfback Erny Pinckert. The overall dimensions of the framed photo are 43” wide by 18.5” high.

Includes Letter of Provenance from the Newport Sports Museum.
